Voting is a very practical way we can exercise our responsibility as citizens and help build a society rooted in justice, peace, and human dignity. As followers of Christ, Bishop John reminds us that taking part in public life is an important part of our faith—a chance to seek the common good for everyone in our local communities.
Key Questions for Prayerful Reflection
The Church does not endorse political parties or candidates. Instead, we are invited to form our conscience in the light of the Gospel. As you prepare to vote, Bishop John encourages us to reflect on questions such as:
- Integrity & Wisdom: Which candidates demonstrate integrity, wisdom and a genuine commitment to public service?
- The Common Good: Who is most committed to promoting the common good?
- Human Dignity: How will they uphold the dignity of every human person?
- Care for the Vulnerable: How will they support those experiencing poverty, exclusion or vulnerability?
- Building Community: How will they help build communities that are just, safe, compassionate and hopeful?

- Postal Votes: As the election falls during the summer holiday period, please make sure to arrange a postal vote in good time if you expect to be away.
