Bookings
The maximum number of persons, adults and children, permitted to attend a function in the large hall is 200, in the Archangel Room is 80. Only this number is covered by insurance.
All bookings will remain provisional until the completed booking form is returned together with a minimum of £20 deposit. The booking will then be treated as permanent and the deposit is not refundable. The full amount must be paid not later than one calendar month booking form.
A refundable cash deposit of £50 is required for all events with a bar of 3+ hours & £30 for up to 3 hours. To be paid with the full payment at least one month before the date of the function. Bookings made less than a month before the date of the function must be paid in full with the booking form.
This will be refunded if the bar takes £200 for a party of up to 3 hours or £300 for parties 3 hours +.
All cancellations must be notified to the booking secretary (phone 07759 678753) not later than one month before the date of the function, cancellations made less than 1 month before the function date must be paid in full.
Bar
The bar will be opened only if prebooked on the booking form. The bar can only be booked for parties of 50+ adults or by arrangement for smaller parties.
When the bar is opened all drinks consumed in the centre, alcohol & soft drinks, must be purchased from the hall bar. No alcoholic drinks can be brought into the halls at any time unless purchased from the bar.
It is an offence to sell or give intoxicating drinks to persons under age 18 or for them to consume intoxicating drinks on the premises or for anybody to bring intoxicating drinks into the premises from an outside source. This law is subject to random spot checks by the police and will be strictly enforced. ID will be required from anyone who appear to be under age 25.
Buildings & Outside
Please keep all fire exits free from furniture or any obstruction.
Any banners or notices affixed to the walls must use Whitetac, and all, including the Whitetac, to be removed at the end of the event.
It is the responsibility of the person who has booked the hall and is in charge of the function to maintain good order at all times. It is their responsibility to ensure that no damage is done to fixtures, fittings and furniture in any part of the centre, especially in the toilet areas.
Parking is not available during Mass time Sunday 9am – 11am
As the halls are situated in a residential area all music and entertainment noise must be kept to a level that is not audible inside neighbouring properties. Regular checks should be made by the event organiser. Special care should be made when people are leaving the event late in the evening.
Please leave the room in a reasonable state of cleanliness, removing all food and litter. Furniture should be left as it was found unless alternative arrangements have been made in advance with the booking secretary. For bookings with the bar, the furniture will be reorganised by the staff. All items of crockery, glasses etc. must be washed and returned to their correct places.
St Michael & St Bernadette’s Parish cannot be held responsible for any loss or injury to persons or their property whilst using the hall. All accidents or injury must be notified to the hall staff and recorded in the accident book.
First Aid kit and Accident Report Book is kept in the kitchen.
Aggressive Behaviour
We have a zero tolerance policy towards aggressive or threatening behaviour from guests and visitors and we reserve the right to shut the bar and request that the premises be emptied.
