This Easter will be a particularly joyful occasion for our parish as six parishioners will be received into full communion with the Church during our Easter Vigil. They will receive the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist — marking a beautiful new chapter in their faith journey. Their reception follows several months of formation and discernment through our RCIA Journey in Faith programme.
As part of their final preparations, they recently participated in the Rite of Election at St Patrick’s in Collyhurst, joining over 100 catechumens and candidates from across the Diocese of Salford as they were presented to Bishop John. This significant moment affirmed their readiness to receive the sacraments at Easter.
Their reception comes at a time when the Catholic Church in England and Wales is preparing to welcome its highest number of new Catholics in at least fifteen years this Easter. We are grateful that our parish is sharing in this encouraging wave of renewal. We hold each of them in our prayers with gratitude and joy as they continue their faith journey.
For anyone who wishes to explore or learn more about the Catholic faith, our Journey in Faith group is a welcoming space. Whether you are new, returning, or simply curious, you are warmly invited to join us. Meeting dates/times are published each week in the Parish Newsletter, and you are always welcome to speak to Fr Steven after Mass.
