Our parish is blessed with a wonderful diversity of languages and cultures, and on Sunday 14th June, we celebrated this richness at our annual International Mass held at St Bernadette’s.  

The Mass was described by many parishioners as beautiful and deeply appreciated. The readings were proclaimed in Italian, Polish, and English, and the bidding prayers were offered in Chichewa, German, and Polish.

In his homily, Fr Steven reflected on the Gospel of the day, reminding us that each of us is called by name, just like the Twelve. He invited us to be apostles of compassion in the everyday circumstances of our lives, carrying the compassion that flows from the Sacred Heart of Jesus into a world where division and bitterness can be stirred up so easily.

He reminded us that God’s grace is freely given, and that we are called to live and give freely in return.

Fr Steven thanked all who read and prayed in their own languages, reflecting the beauty and unity of our parish family.
