Our parishioner Bernie Boardman will be running the AJ Bell Great Manchester Half Marathon on Sunday, 31st May to support the wonderful work of Caritas Diocese of Salford.
Bernie has chosen to take on this challenge to raise vital funds for Caritas – to support people in our local area experiencing poverty, homelessness, disadvantage and discrimination, helping them to transform their lives with dignity. In Bernie’s own words:
“Will you help by making a donation, so that together we can help ensure that nobody is left behind?”
Paula Crosland, the daughter of one of our parishioners is also taking part in this half marathon in aid of Caritas Salford.
Why Your Support Matters
Caritas is the official social action charity of our diocese. They work on the front lines across Greater Manchester and Lancashire, providing a wide range of services for those facing isolation and crisis. Whether it is providing a hot meal, securing shelter for the homeless, or offering a hand up to those in distress, Caritas ensures that the most vulnerable members of our community are seen and supported.
How You Can Support
We are asking our parish family to support Bernie and Paula in two ways:
Donate Online: Visit Bernie’s JustGiving Page to contribute securely.
In Church: Sponsorship sheets are available at the back of each church.
Please join us in supporting Bernie and Paula with your donations and prayers as the big race approaches. Every contribution helps Caritas provide hope to those who need it most.
